We interviewed "UNDERCOVER" designer Jun Takahashi about this season's collection.
- What is the significance of launching two consecutive seasons with the same theme, and what are your thoughts on the concept of "KOSMIK / NOISE" again?
Since the main idea is to twist universal designs in an UNDERCOVER style, we thought there was no need to create a new theme for each collection.
KOSMIK/NOISE means "comfortable noise in daily life". The name was chosen so that wearing this product in everyday life will create a pleasant stimulus.
- For the 24SS, we announced our first collaboration in 3 years, and g.u. received very positive feedback such as "Long-awaited collaboration! It's more evolved than it was three years ago."
Did you receive any feedback from your surroundings or the brand's customers?
I have friends who have purchased and worn them immediately after they went on sale. They are all surprised at the high quality.
- What was the most important part of the collection and items for this fourth season?
For me, stadium jackets and tracksuits are one of the new challenges this time.
- What are some of the key points of these US and Taiwan exclusive items?
For the US-only graphic, we chose the iconic New York icon, the apple, as the motif.
It is an iconic design that we often use at Undercover.
The Taiwanese exclusive bag was conceived as an eco-friendly bag and features the iconic logo of the concept.
- How do you want the adult generation and the younger generation to enjoy this collection?
As per the concept, we hope you will enjoy it as a small stimulus to your daily life.
- What items and how would you recommend wearing them if they were to be crossed with items from the g.u. inline line?
I think it is best to wear it simply and casually.
- Please tell us about your favorite items from this collection.
Also, which items should fashion lovers look out for? Please tell us the reason for each item.
MA-1 type blousons and mod coats are items with just the right blend of UNDERCOVER style.
As I mentioned earlier, I think stadium jackets and tracksuits are also interesting as a new experiment.
The Dorothy photo print sweatshirt from the triple collaboration with OZ is one of my favorites.
